Direction by rental car

Berna Tica is in the village of Cacao, approx. 6 miles west of Alajuela. The village is located between the rivers Río Poás and Río Itiquís and is not shown on most maps.

From ALAJUELA, take the old road (no. 118) direction of Grecia. After Río Itiquís, continue direction Grecia. At the junction to Póas Volcano (signs), continue straight ahead. After approx. 0.5 mile, you will see signs for "BERNA TICA". Follow these signs approx. 2.5 miles west.

Siga la carretera vieja para Grecia. Del Hotel Orquídeas Inn en Cacao 700 metros al oeste está un rótulo "BERNA TICA". Siga a los rótulos BERNA TICA por quatro kilómetros hasta el Tajo Rincón de Cacao. 200 metros al oeste a mano izquierda, portón rojo negro con timbre, se encuentra el hotel.

By bus from Alajuela

A bus goes from Alajuela to Rincón de Cacao and back approx. every 45 minutes. You can find the bus stop in Alajuela (see the general map 01): Oeste Fuerza Publica, Calle Diez, Avenida Central-Avenida Dos. The stop has a sign"CACAO". You pay the fare directly to the driver (approx. 135 colones). BERNA TICA is only 500 meters from where the bus line ends and goes back. Consequently, you need not fear missing the right stop. The driver will probably "throw you out" of the bus directly in front of our hotel.

By taxi from the airport

Go to the counter "Taxis oficiales del Aeropuerto". They are responsible for the official, orange airport taxis at the arrival-area. Tell them that you want to go to Hotel Berna Tica. They will know the way to find us.
